What is Madrid Borde Sur? MBS was created more than 5 years ago with the aim of proposing a vision of territorial cohesion and neighborhoods from the urban planning and the participation of professionals and neighbors in the southern area of Madrid, with the aim of enhancing the urban landscape and social cohesion of the area with a metropolitan perspective beyond the geographical and infrastructure limits (borders) of the city of Madrid, which surround and box some of its peripheral neighborhoods (San Cristobal or Villaverde as reference areas, but also Getafe, Leganés or Carabanchel). 

 

MBS is made up of a field work group, composed of 6 architects and urban planners, and an academic research group composed of 5 university professors and researchers. In parallel, Madrid Borde Sur carries out theoretical analysis and studies (research group), together with participatory actions with groups, associations and entities of the neighborhoods in which it works. All this with a metropolitan perspective of territorial cohesion beyond the municipal limits and terms (edges).
